A highly proactive academician, Dr.Bhatt is presently working as Professor of Social Work at Delhi School of Social Work,University of Delhi. He is social work educator, trainer, and development consultant. He has also taught in the University of Lucknow, Varanasi, Kurukshetra and Chitrakoot. At Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, he contributed to develp Faculty of Rural Reconstruction.
Committed to bridging the gap between social work education and practice, he experiments with different teaching methodologies, works for with grass root organizations.He is associated with a number of social movements and civil society organizations in various capacities. He is one of the founder members of Delhi based advocacy group PAIRVI working for human rights and social justice. He has written various research papers, books, monographs and conducted dozens evaluative studies for national and internationnal organizations.
Dr Bhatt is involved in various movements like Chipko movement, Voters Education Movement, Child rights, International financial institutions. At, present , he is asking Decent Work for working people in organized and unorganized sector.
